Having worked and studied in hospitality for years it was a natural progression for best friends Mike and Chef Rev to give up their day jobs to follow their passion in hospitality. A great and impassable opportunity arose when they accidently stumbled upon a property in Durban that was screaming to be a restaurant which would later provide a platform for many leading edge hospitality enterprises. This old building was the only office surrounded by restaurants on Helen Joseph Road (Davenport Road) and would soon become the home of Pop-up Society. With our sights firmly set on expansion; the flagship brand being the fixed restaurant, Pop-up Society Restaurant and Bar, we look to grow in other areas such as retail, hospitality education, hospitality media and manufactured consumables while remaining true to our purpose.
